Japan’s Fighting & Entertainment Group (FEG) held the weigh-ins today for its DREAM 10 event, which is set to go down from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan, on July 20.
Hayato “Mach” Sakurai missed weight twice today; however, the good news is that he was able to hit the mark on his third and final attempt. It marks the second time in a row “Mach” has tipped the scales overweight — he had similar problems this past April at DREAM 8.
Everyone else on the card made weight and are locks for the event.
Here are the official weigh-in results for DREAM 9 (converted from kilograms to pounds):
Welterweight Grand Prix semifinals:
Andre Galvao (167.2) vs. Jason High (167.2)
Hayato Sakurai (167.2)* vs. Marius Zaromskis (166.8)Welterweight Grand Prix reserve bout:

*Sakurai made weight on his third attempt.
DREAM 10 will be broadcast stateside early Monday morning on HDNet at 3 a.m. ET and an encore presentation is set for next Friday, July 24, at 10 p.m. ET.
It will, of course, feature the promotion’s welterweight grand prix tournament, which will come to its conclusion with the semifinals and finals set to all go down in the same night. Sakurai is the pre-tournament favorite — he’ll do battle with Cage Veteran Marius Zaromskis, while on the other side of the brackets will be jiu-jitsu ace Andre Galvao locking horns with Jason High.
Also in non-tournament action in a battle of lightweight standouts and jiu-jitsu phenoms will be Shinya Aoki up against Vitor Ribeiro. And former WEC middleweight champion Paulo Filho will make a return to action as well, he takes on Dutch bruiser Melvin Manhoef in what should present an interesting styles clash.
Be sure to check back tomorrow morning for our complete recap. In the meantime, get up to speed on all things DREAM righthere.
