On Saturday, March 3rd Strikeforce women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate will put her title on the line for the first time against Ronda Rousey. Tate (12-2) will enter the main event championship fight riding a six fight winning streak. Tate captured the title in July 2011 when she submitted Marloes Coenen by arm-triangle choke in the fourth round. Rousey (4-0) is a Olympic medalist in judo who has quickly found success in her transition to mixed martial arts. She has defeated all four of her opponents by armbar submission in the first round.
Strikeforce: Tate vs Rousey takes place from the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. The main card will air live on Showtime beginning at 10:00pm ET. The preliminary card will be shown on Sho Extreme at 8:00pm ET.
