A welterweight match-up pitting John “The Hitman” Hathaway against Pascal “Panzer” Krauss becomes the latest addition to the UFC’s third fight card on FOX television. UFC officials announced earlier on Monday that both competitors have verbally agreed to the bout.
Hathaway and Krauss were originally slated to face off at UFC 138 in November 2011. However, injuries would eventually scratch both fighters from the card.
Hathaway (15-1) began his career with 14 consecutive wins including his first four fights in the UFC. That streak would come to an end at UFC 120 when Hathaway dropped a decision loss to Mike Pyle. He would rebound from that setback with a split decision win over Kris McCray at UFC Fight Night 24.
The undefeated Krauss (10-0) will be making his second appearance inside the Octagon. In his UFC debut, Krauss earned a unanimous decision win over Mark Scanlon at UFC 122 in October 2010. Krauss has finished nine of his opponents inside of two rounds with seven wins by submission and two wins by knockout.
UFC on FOX 3 takes place on May 5th from the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The event will be headlined by a five round lightweight bout featuring Nate Diaz and Jim Miller.
