WIth UFC 100 in the books, the MMA world’s focus will soon turn to two other upcoming major events: “Affliction: Trilogy” on Aug. 1 and the championship quadruple-header “Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg” event on Aug. 15.
The Strikeforce event, which airs on Showtime, features four title fights, including one for the first-ever women’s title and bouts to contest the men’s heavyweight and lightweight titles and the first-ever welterweight belt.
To promote the event, the organization on Tuesday holds a press conference at Madison Square Garden’s WaMu Theater in New York City, and it’ll stream live on Strikeforce.com.
