A welterweight bout between Paulo Thiago (11-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) and Jacob Volkmann (10-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) originally slated for Saturday’s “UFC 106: Griffin vs. Ortiz II” un-aired preliminary card today was promoted to the pay-per-view main card.
The fight takes the spot vacated by Karo Parisyan vs. Dustin Hazelett, which was canceled today following Parisyan’s decision to pull out of the fight for undisclosed reasons.
With the change, Spike TV’s special one-hour preliminary card broadcast will remain intact with Marcus Davis vs. Ben Saunders and Kendall Grove vs. Jake Rosholt.
